Private Training
Private training is all about you and your dog. You get:
- 100% of the trainer’s time and attention
- A customized training plan with support materials
- One-on-one coaching for you and members of your household
- Sessions conducted in your home, Training Center, public places, or remotely with web-based tools
Coaching You to Train Your Dog for household manners
When we “coach you to train your dog,” it’s a team effort between our instructor, you, and your pup! We’ll share the secrets of how your dog learns and how we can teach the behaviors you desire. After explaining, we’ll show you the training in action. Then, it’s your turn as we guide you through the process.
You can join us for one-hour sessions that suit your schedule:
- at our Training Center ($85/session)
- in your home (we’re happy to travel within 20 miles) or a public area ($110/session or 3-sessions for $300).
Remote Web-based Training
Sometimes, working remotely is the ideal option:
- for those who have just a few questions about their pups and would like to chat with a professional
- for dog parents who live at a distance that makes in-person training impractical
- for those who are anxious about their dog’s behavior around guests and would like to discuss before meeting in person
- for those who are concerned about in-person sessions for various other reasons
Using readily available apps and webcams in your laptop, phone, or tablet, remote training delivers the personal coaching you need to teach your dog. Our experienced trainers guide you in the proper techniques and protocols to achieve your training goals with your dog.
We can work on an open-ended, session-by-session basis at $60 per hour, in 15-minute increments.
Consultations for dogs with challenging behavior
Our behavior consultations are designed for dogs facing difficulties in their daily lives. Is your dog scared or acting aggressively towards visitors, strangers, other dogs, or in certain situations? Let us do a detailed evaluation to find out what’s causing these issues and work together to create plans that will help your dog overcome them.
Initial Consultation:
The first consultation is about 90 minutes long. During this time, we’ll figure out what triggers your dog’s behavior and why. We’ll create a plan together to manage your dog at home. Then we address the behaviors you’re worried about with exercises to practice to make long lasting changes. The fees for the initial consultation are $130 in the training center or $170 in home. The location for the first consultation is in most cases flexible. Simply schedule the location that is more convenient for you.
Follow-Up Sessions
Follow-up sessions are usually scheduled for the location where you experience the challenging behavior. Once we have an individualized plan for you, we will discuss the need and schedule for follow-up sessions to practice together and make adjustments to the plan as needed. Sessions are typically either 30 minutes ($60) or 60 minutes ($110) long.
